I thought I might post this up and see what sort of interest there is in setting up a section \ register for shadowing new riders. Shadowing is basically taking a learner rider or someone who has just got their license who is looking for a riding buddy who can help them get some road expereince. There is a fair amount of responsibility in doing this and shouldnt be entered into lightly. Im happy to donate some time, what say you ? Chris
i would also be happy to help. I had a few guys give me tips when i first started riding and it made a big difference. I think this is a great idea!
Too easy, let me know when and where. A word to the wise.........be sure not to pass your bad habits on to newer riders.
I think this is a great idea and I would be one who could benefit from something like this. I have looked at the pictures of the correct way to corner but nothing is better than seeing it for yourself. I am still trying to get the right line through a corner. I am improving each time I ride but having someone there would be a great advantage. But I would be asking a legal person some questions before you go to far as you don't want to make yourself liable if something goes wrong and you don't have any cover. I understand that you have the best intentions but that is not enough to make you Innocent in a court of law. you would also want to think about having a method written down of what each person will be showing the new rider. This way they can't say you showed them something that you haven't. Probably will help you defend yourself if needed. Sorry to be the one to put dampener on this great idea. but you always have to be sure you don't get yourself into trouble before you help someone else.
Liability is an interesting discussion point, my wife is Lawyer, let me look into it ( from a Qld perspective anyway) Cheers Chris
Hi Chris Have you got an update on this as I do think it is a great idea if it could be put into practice. Phil
 I have posted a short video for cornering tips on You Tube and my website if anyone cares to have a quick look, easiest option is follow the link from www.advancedroadcrafttechniques.com let me know what you think as I am always looking to improve the video presentation, cheers, Mark
Thanks Mark I had a look at your video and it is so much better than trying to understand what they put in the RTA rider training book you get when you go for your licence in NSW By the looks of it your course would be a great investment even though I don't ride a sports bike.
