I know I bang on about this a lot, but it is an issue that never goes away. Number of turns out is a guide ONLY. One of the members on the UK 400 forum was having issues with his Suzuki and finally got it sorted by having one cylinder one full turn different to the others. You can read the thread here. Just the last two pages will give you the idea. http://www.400greybike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=45877&start=60 cheers
3 turns out as the bikes came from the factory is probably right. Now with cooked rock solid airbox boots, cracking carb boots, worn needles and tubes... it's a whole different ball game.
@GreyImport Not to my knowledge. Probably has a lot to do with the carbs being mounted almost vertically as opposed to the almost horizontal FZR versions.
. . . and compression. A strong healthy engine responds to the fuel screw in a dramatic and clear way. A sick engine is vague and non-responsive.
