I recently acquired a CBR250RR with very rusty disks, I was going to replace them, however they are almost 5mm thick and too good to discard, any ideas as to how I can remove the rust ? I have used some wd40 as lube and hit it with some steel wool, while its smoother, Im still not making any inroads. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Chris
Stick the wheel on a running bike and ride it and brake alot. Is this bike actually going? ...its track bike 2?
not quite yet, no brakes and the petcock is seized.... it will be a while before I hit the road in anger with her
Is that not odd? I though most Japanese bikes had some variety of stainless steel discs. Are they standard items?
I would be more concerned about the condition of the calipers. If the calipers, hoses and pads are rebuilt and working correctly the rust will wear off fairly quickly with brake use.
