Running demineralised water

    So flushed coolant on running/track bike replaced with demineralised water! Seems to run bit warmer at 3/4 is this to be expected?

    Will the bike run hotter just on the water then coolant fizzer now sits just over 3/4

    you need to add anti-corrosion and anti- boil to the de mineralized water.

    When you say anti boil and that you mean just coolant not another form of additive?

    yes, coolant has a higher boiling point, 3/4 seems abit high aswell.

    do not see the problem if you run an overflow bottle but check with simidau or mboddy

    1937 Royal Enfield 250, CF Moto 250 V5, Honda's XL250, CBR250, FT500 plus a few others.
    Nulon make a 'coolant additive' suitable for motorsport use. Has no Glycol.
    Maybe the Evans Waterless Coolant is ok too.

    As far as I'm aware no additives what so ever may be wrong more concerned bike temp near the red it doesn't fluctuate but just gets up to that temp and sits there

    No additives are allowed :(
    Every year MA is asked to allow non glycol inhibitors and every year they knock them back.
    I never noticed any difference in temp with just water in our bikes - make sure you put coolant/inhibitor back in between race meetings to stop corrosion.

    are you finding its running hotter while its been driven? i run just demineralised water and flush it after ever meeting. on really hot days i have the fan on as a constant and that helps, other wise all ok with our any additives.

    I flush back with coolant no help check thermostat water pump all good check for blocks that's was fine gave it one more flush and spent twice as long bleeding it
    Works a treat now!!! So I assume water be fine I just wasn't bleeding enough and had a air lock or short of coolant :headbang:

    Yes it will run warmer with just water. Is that a problem? not necessarily.

    Just keep an eye on it though, water alone can rust a cooling system very quickly.
