Hey guys, i had a bit of a nasty accident on my fzr on wednesday. It was on a country road and me n my bro were heading off to my local biker meet. The road was dead straight with good visibility all the way up it and no hidden sideroads when a twat in a saab 93 pulls out on me! ******, anyway i slammed on my brakes and went into his front wing, leaving the bike behind. i was travelling at about 65km/h at the time (speed limit was 95) and went sliding up the road for about 10-15 metres.

SO basicall my bike isnt a pretty sight at the mo and it probably needs a complete front end. If the insurance give me money for it and let me keep it, what do u think i should do with it???

I thiink ive got the options down to:
-repair it as a trackday bike
-repair it as a road bike
-split it and sell the parts on ebay
-sell the bike in its damaged state on ebay

Fark, Sorry to hear that dude !
But glad to hear your OK?? How is your body feeling, any damage??
Good to hear that you can tell the tale here.. damn what did the saab guy say to u.. freak i would of smacked him one..

WIth your bike, wait n see what the insurance does for you.. if u wanna ride again and need a road bike then repair it as a road bike.. though how damaged is it? Can you post up pics.. cause if its badly crashed up .. you might wanna fix it cause it could just be an endless flow of problems..

Good to hear your ok dude... sorry to hear that u crashed though.

As dean said: I'm glad your ok (and posting here) but too bad about the bike!!!

I think you will likely have to wait to see what insurance does for ya before you can make any decisions. They may only give you enough money for repairs, or they may give you full replacement cost (and if you get to keep the bike too, and then sell the remainder off you may be able to get an even better bike). Does your insurance cover your gear too? There was a guy here who came off in top quality alpine star leathers - insurance repaired his bike and also provided a complete replacement of his leathers and helment.

I havent got any webspace so i cant post any pics

Just waiting to hear from the other drivers insurance tho to claim for the damage. I was wearing a frank thomas jacket, Sidi boots and a caberg helmet so i will definately be claiming for the damage done to these!!!

Im feeling really depressed now, the good weathers started and i've been without a bike for 11days now and im stuck with the box on 4 wheels - life sux!

sad

Yeah as both Boz and Dean have said, happy to hear you are ok and that IS the main thing.

And you will have to wait to see what they say, but I would fix it up to be a road bike then sell it, track day bikes are cool but I think for the amount of time you ride them its a waste. Thats just what I think

Any ways sorry to hear about it aye mate.
