Agreed Risky. I rode dirt bikes growing up, but by the time I did my Q-Ride is was 20 years since I'd been on a bike.

I did my Q-ride through Ride Smart, who were really good in my opinion. About 8 people turned up to do the course and after day 1, 3 riders were told they needed more training and would not be assessed for a RE Licence.

I have had my car licence for over 25 years so I guess I have a real knowledge of road rules and crap that occurs on the road, but for a young rider or novice road user, the 5 questions is a joke and I don't think that the current Q-Ride works for them. I know they can probably ride but it's the other morons on the road. More time needs to be spent on risk and hazard assessment while riding.

I thought the Ride-On DVD covered it ok, and we were tested on it by Ride Smart with a 30 question test. I also note that this was covered in Recommendation 9 of the report.
