Picked my bike up from Bob Martin Engineering, they did a great job for $700. Forks were bent, top and bottom triple clamps, front axle and wheel and the left hand side needed straightening as well as my gear lever.

Now, I will be going to the wreckers to pick up a clutch lever, some gaskets and a LHS footpeg.

I am going to change the colour of the bike when I get some new fairings but most bike shops only have the front available.

Can't get new ducktails so I thought I would attempt to strip the paint from the plastic but want to know if it can be done without destrying the plastic. Any ideas and what products to use?

I always assumed you would be able to just sand it away with a fine grit paper. I have never repainted a full fairing (only minor crack repairs) so may be wrong in that.

yeh there is no need to strip the paint off.. im workin my fairings atm.. and basically i just putty up the cracks that are on the fairings then wait for it to dry and use 400 grade sandpaper to smooth it down then up to 1500 grade then continue smoothing it down.. then i prima it over and use grade 2000 wet n dry sandpaper with water to sand down again.. just b4 i paint it.. as long as the surface is smooth all around it be fine.

    Yup

Yeah thats right Dean all you need to do is sand the fairing to a perfect smooth surface. And if you do it this way you may not need primer so you could be saving some cash.
