I was just wondering whats going on with FZR and R2 stickers. I have even seen some with YZF on them but they are advertised as FZR250RR. Does anything know about this?
i think theyre just decals.... ive seen R2 stickers on several fzr250... but i dont htink theyre factory decals i could be wrong... simon
from what I understand the r2 decals are put on when the bike is imported to australia - it makes people feel as though they are riding the brethren of the r6 or r1 when in reality they are riding a bike that is at least 10 years old.

I think i know why, I have had a look at some sites, some FZR with ~2002 compliance or newer has got the Yamaha writting taken off the tank and replaced with the logo and YZF and R2. Though some still have FZR R2. I think they done it so its popularity would increase cuz they think R1 but smaller. I wouldn't mind a couple of R2 stickers though

Mine's got R2 decals, but not on the tail. Mine's the electric blue FZR250 3LN in the gallery, painted up to look a bit like the R6. It was complianced 2002

I spoke to a guy who used to import them and he said that when they bring them into the country they squeeze as many bikes they can into a shipping container to save on freight but the problem with that is alot of the bikes get scratched etc so they re-paint them in the most popular colours ie R1 is a very popular scheme.
Does anyone have a r2 decal on there computer or know of a site that has them? I am looking for 1 but i can't get anything on google/altavista etc.

Definitley better, is it possible to loop the bottom turn of the 2? I think that'd help in realizing that it is a 2.
