Well, my little Cibby will be out at Lakeside on the 31st of January, and Im hoping that I can get to Morgan park on the 14/15th of Feb and have a crack at racing.

Before I head out to MP, I need to some work to the bike to ensure its ready and will pass scrutineering. I have been doing some shopping and have sourced the following:
    • 1x New main Jets - 105
    • 2x Carbon Fibre engine covers
    • 4 x exhaust gaskets
    • 2 x 25mm bungs for the main fairing

    My Work List
    Fit Carbon Fibre engine covers
Replace main jets with 105's across all 4 carbs
    Fit new exhaust gaskets
Work out why temp gauge is jumping up then cutting out
    Lockwire sump
    Lockwire Oil filter bolt
    Lockwire front caliper bolts
    Lockwire Rad cap
Paint lower fairing because there is such a thing as too much orange
Install a metal guard on the swing arm
    make a new windscreen
Get some darker green vinyl as a base for race numbers
get some white vinyl to cut race numbers
install 2 x 25mm bungs for the main fairing
    adjust chain
Work out what spares I need to take.
    Oil and filter change

    Completed so far
    Paint lower fairing
    Fit Carbon Fibre engine covers

    Cheers

    Chris

I know it's a bit late with the engine covers, but I encourage people to have a go at fibre glassing & working with carbon/kevlar themselves. It's really not that hard. It might not look as good as the perfectly formed bought one but costs around $20 to make a side and works (unfortunately tested)

Just takes a little prep work and patience.

carbon fibre is easy to use. the resin is the ;west system;which is 2 part epoxy and probably is bulk araldite and the carbon fibre is bought in sheets.to make mould the old wax on wax off 15 times works.if your part is 2 pak painted and waxed the original part will not be damaged. to strengthen hi density foam can be sandwiched.carbon fibre is thin and lite. in class we wiped the epoxy mix on, laid the carbon fibre and wiped another epoxy coat over and through.if it burns the carbon fibre can be re used and if you want a different look hessian works but does not have the strength.

Chris, try using a heal guard for your chain guard, we've done it on my mates r6 and I've seen it done at the track heaps of time, easy and effective and passes scrutineering, it just has to stop you been able to put your finger at the chain entry to the rear sprocket. Lock wire your rear caliper also and get an over flow for you fuel, carb and rad over flow to go into. some just use a plastic bottle, I've a aluminium drink bottle cable ties to the frame that works fine :)

some more progress today, my mate Mark made me a rear swing arm guard which looks the goods, he also drilled the front and rear caliper bolts, the water pump drain bolt so Im now ready to go with assembling and lock wiring them. Mark also used a 25mm tile saw to put 2 x25mm drain plugs into the belly pan which have come out tops !!

I also made a new windscreen, it needs to be trimmed down, but is better than the old one

Just FYI - I leave my sidestand on until Saturday, only takes one min to take off and makes moving the bike around the pits nice and easy - also I leave it on for track days.

Great job! Looking forward to seeing you out there!
