During my bike inspection, i noticed that my cylinder #1 (counting frm LHS) is moist with oil while the rest r dry. Its not dripping. i dont knw where that coming from. I suspect its is coming from the edge gasket of cam cover but not sure. My spark plug torque is all ok. Oil level is fine, 85% of the window. is this critical?

On the other hand.. One allen bolt of the water pump is also moist with oil but the rest r dry. I checkd the the oil condition and its not milky so theres no problem with the internal gasket in it. but when i took off that single bolt of the pump, the shaft and thread was milky.

Im from manila. So one of my theory is that im riding it in a very hot place plus bumper to bumper 2 hrs traffic everyday. and my temp gauge goes as high as 90% (fan ON). So the engine is sweating with oil. Is this natural? Pls i need some adivse and i just want to make sure.

First thing that I would do is to clean the engine really good. Use a degreaser, but DO NOT allow it to get onto the drive chain. Also, DO NOT use a pressurewasher on the chain, ok for the engine.

Then take it out for a spin for a couple of days. Recheck, you'll now see exactly where the leak is.

As far as the oily residue on the 1 bolt at the waterpump.... I havent a clue. Wipe the bolt down at the same time and recheck later.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you are getting along.
