Oil filter.

    Iam new to this sort of stuff.I cant seem to find my oil filter.Is it internal or external my mate told that his filter was internal.Another mate said that it at the front but i didin't find it.

    some idiot decided to put it under the exhaust manifold. you have to remove the exhaust to get to the filter, on the under side of the bike. at least thats where mine is...

    If your bike is the 2KR it is in the bottom of the engine.

    To remove it you will have to remove the exhaust pipes from the head and swivel out of the way and undo the 3 bolts on the plate on the bottom of the sump. The filter is a KN145 from memory.

    Make sure you have drained the oil prior to this and have a tray underneath to catch the rest when you undo the plate.

    The people that design these bikes are spose to be the bright one's and they put it there of all places.Thanks for the info.

    They changed it for the 3ln but it is just as much a pain to remove unless you have the hands of a small Japanese boy.

    3LN-3 you can use the canister removal tool of choice... be it a can strap or a screwdriver. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

    Mine was the screwdriver, it worked wonders.
