So I was going to do a change oil of my 2KR but when I tried to open the oil filler cap, being the old and all, the whole cap fell apart and fell inside the oil well; at least, some broken parts of it.

    1. Had this happen to you, what would you do? I'm deferring my oil change until I get a definitive answer as my trusted mechanic is away for the holidays.

    2. Are there any aftermarket oil filler cap for newer bikes that's compatible with the 2KR that you know of? Hunting for one already sounds really challenging after doing a brief search in my trusty local shops.

    Please help. :headbang:
    Thanks!

Good news, they are easy to replace. This is the part number, 3F9-15362-10-00, Yamaha still uses the it, it was put on dozens of models. Should be able to order one through Yamaha.

If you want aftermarket try this: scroll to the bottom and there's a list of bikes that it was used on, it'll be easier to find an aftermarket 2008 R6 cap than an fzr250 cap even though they are the same part. Make sure you put the right o ring on it or the cap can come off while riding and cover your leg in oil. Ask me how I know

Thank you for this. I've been stressing about a replacement since yesterday. Lifesaver man!
