Hi All, Some of you will know that I bought an Ohlins rear shock for my 400. This was possible because Ohlins now have a factory here in Thailand and this brings the price down. Of course they do not make shocks specifically for the older 4 cylinder bikes but it should be possible to use an off the shelf shock and set it up to suit your bike. For example the KA110033 which is for the Kawasaki 250/300 Ninja twins might be close to the Yamaha FZR250 3LN shock. If the stroke is fairly similar then you can expect that the the spring rate and damping would be a good match. The suggested retail for these is 9950 Thai Baht but savings can be had. You can look over what they have available here http://www.ohlinsasia.com/product/pro_cat.php?cid=25&cid_pr=25&cname=MOTORCYCLE Things to get right in order are: Mounting type (clevis or eye) and sizes Length Stroke Spring rate and damping Note that TYGA in Thailand are doing over the counter Ohlins for some of the 2 stroke 250's. cheers Blair
Tyga currently have 15% off for NSR250 shocks. Although at $700 USD it's still way too expensive. Much cheaper to get NSR World to rebuild a Showa SP-spec shock and set it up for you. I just regret not buying one when they first released them with parity on the US dollar.
