If you are planning on stripping down or restoring a Motorcycle then you should look seriously at bagging your nuts and bolts . I use zip lock sandwich bags from Woolies and cost about $4 for a big box. When I remove a specific part, I then place the nuts and bolts that I removed in the bag and label the bag with the bike and the part name they came off. This way when its time to reassemble, you are not looking through a big box of bolts trying to work out which ones fit. I have picked up quite a few basket cases where the owner couldnt reassemble it as they didnt know which bolt when where. If you are stripping an engine, make sure you use bags for different parts... This is a really cheap way to separate your nuts and bolts and makes reassembly so much easier My father taught me this and seeing as its fathers day I thought I would share

I actually used a number of different sized back pulling apart the other FZR. I got tired of trying to find stuff from the old 2kr whenever I needed something. So I took apart the whole bike and bagged EVERYTHING up. Not just bolts. Now I can simply pull out the bag, and done.
I also use a paint marker to mark the bags rather than a permanent marker. Things like 2 stroke oil can dissolve permanent marker and you end up with a stack of bags with no labels.
Ha ha fair point. Truth be told my habit originated at work when I marked up some core with a permanent marker and it was shipped half way around the world only to arrive with no markings left. My holiday was rudely interrupted.
