Really needing to sell my [ with reg. and RWC] 1990 FZR 3LN that I have used only for week-ends. Has 52,000k and I have had carbies tuned, services, good tyres all the usual love and attention. I had thought a quick sell would be $3,000 given eastern Australia prices I've seen. I purchased as a naked as it must have been dropped and done the fairing. I love the look of this bike but keep getting the bike rubbished for not having a fairing!? The light and instruments all have been custom set and look great with the clip ons and bar-ends...anyway I guess I ma a tad biased, so I would be greatful for Dave or any of the regulars some valuations for the 1990 model. I know its a better bike by than the 2KR and so should hold its resale somewhat. I'd be happy with $2600+ to be honest but all the dealers [ha suprise suprise keep saying they need it with a fairing so all I can expect is $1,400! Good grief! Am I being unrealistic or should I just sit tight at $2,600?? I have bike in forums Classifieds with pic link. Thanks.
As a private sale you may get close to $2600, however it could take a long time to sell. 50,000k's is a fair number. You should be able to find someone willing to spend $2k if you want it gone quicker. It's still a buyers market, plenty of bikes for sale not many people with money.
If the bike is running good and with fairings $3000-3500 but my guess is that $2000 would be your best as is. I don't know that it is worth the effort and cost to get a set of fairings and go for the higher resale.
I've seen new plastic fairings for these on ebay for $500-$600. Might work out cheaper in the long run
