Hey Guys

I been around this place, posting when I get a chance to and frequently browse to see what’s going on in the FZR world

I'm after a couple bike parts and hope some one can help me

I'm after a rear spacer for the bike, it's the spacer that sits half in the frame that holds the middle of the engine in it's place, I lost mine and the local wreckers suck and won't give me one so I thought bugger em one of my Fzr's hopefully will have a spare I can buy, I have the spacer that sits on the right side but have lost the left side one.

Hopefully you know what I mean, it's the one that has the Allen Key bolt going threw it, hope some one can help

I'm after some info and maybe a new fuel tap, my bike that I recently restored seems to have problems with it's fuel management and I'm hoping some one knows how to help me fix this

If I miss the tap and run the petrol straight from the tank me bike works but if I go threw the tap, the filter fills up and then nothing.....

Any Idea's or help or does some one have a tap I can buy

Hope to get lots of help as I finally want to get my puppy on the road hopefully early Jan, gotta save up for rego and a new jacket now...

Thanks in Advance

Indy

Almost forgot, it's a 90 FZR 250 3LN Model..

Does the 3LN have a pump, i'm just reading away in the forum and seem to read some models do, I don't think mine does or i never set it up, I thought it was gravity fed, could this be my problem, I have no pump ?...

I am not entirely sure what you are talking about when you refer to the spacer. Anyway I am fairly confident I don’t have one lying around, seeming I don’t even know what it is. See if you can find the part number for it from the link below. Once you have that any Yamaha dealer should be able to order one for you.

As Ciaran said, chase a part number and see if Yamaha will get you one in.
Either that, or try and give YamWreck (Bruce) a call... i know he's in Victoria but i'm sure he'll do his best to help you out (or one of us Melbournites can pick it up and courier it over to you).

As for the fuel pump - all FZR's should have a pump, but apparently some of the compliancers/importers made a habit out of removing them. Supposedly there were issues with many of the pumps having jelly like japanese fuel solidifying inside them causing reliability issues in the longer term... or atleast thats the best explanation i've heard so far!

Let us know how it all goes, and don't forget to post pics!
A picture is worth a thousand words (or atleast 50 posts! )

Thanks Champs, thats the love i expect from this place

dammit, mine doesen't have a fuel pump, they must have removed it..

My petrol goes from the tank- to the tap- threw the filter to the Carbs...

Unless the Pump is elsewhere and I missed it, I don't have one

I attached the picture with the Spacer I'm missing, I hope this helps

if i can't get one from you guys in the next week, I'll call the YamWreck, they should be able to send me one over in the mail, I'll also ask about the fuel pump

It's a bit of a concern... not that gravity feed doesen't work, but just concerning

Thanks Alot Guys

if My fuel pump has been removed, is it wise to get one and where should I get it from, i did a search and read a little bit about a generic car pump, but that sounded dodgy, it'd be real great for some words on this

Please find attached the digram with the Part I'm after, I'm gonna do another search of my garage tommrow and hope I find it... as I'm stuck with out it

hey in regards to bikes having fuel pumps or not, isnt the easiest way to figure it out to listen to the bike when you turn it on?

that clicking sound -does the pump make that sound? or do gravity fed bikes sound the same....

just curious

If the spacer is only mild steel and you have the exact dimensions I could spin one up on the lathe at work for you.

I'd say the best way to know is to look for it. It's usually noisy yes but there are all different pumps out there. Some could be silent aftermarket pumps... Maybe.

I'd definately get in there and look for one.

I got a local machinery joint to make me one, i'll pick it up tommorow after work and hopefully it's what Dave has in mind, i'm hoping it'll work, wish me luck, if not i might get the specs and see what you can muster Dave me man

I might have to get a friend to call Import MC, if it comes to that, I won't talk to those **** ever again after they screwed me over with the new engine i bought from them..

Thanks for all the great replys and

my pump doesen't make any noise, because i don't have one, still undeiceded if i want to add a pump or not, suppose i'll know more after this weekend when I finally get a little road action..
