We'll not to much going on here. Hopefully my Litetek kit will be here soon but this place is terrible for mail. I think I may be into a seat as well.

What has arrived though is my starter. Here's a pic of the old one for anyone interested

You can see the missing magnet (it was completely shattered) and if you at the top one it is cracked as well. While this was working I'm sure it would've let go sooner or later. Still not to sure what caused this as the bearings are good

Had a similar problem with a Honda CRF450X this weekend. I suspect that vibration/heat may be the start of the cracks, then an edge picks up on the armature and it all turn to poo from there.

Well this one lasted 20 years so it's not too bad. I'm sure excessive cranking would put a far bit of heat in these things as well.

Got home to a nice surprise. Man I've heard it again and again but this stuff is unreal. Fitment is OEM if not better, really top notch stuff

I'll have to wait till tomorrow to put them back on. Guess I'll have to post up the compulsory
    "rev up" video :thumb_ups:

Finally, the last piece to the puzzle has arrived

I'm sure I'll find a few more things go wrong once i actually get out on the road, but for now it's done.

If anyone wants the A model seat it's yours for the price of post. I don't need it and it wont fit this bike so it's no good to me

Well some how she got through the system

But not without challenge. After waiting in the DOT for 45 minutes I get to the window and the nice lady starts typing away. She then lets me know that some of the details are different on the roadworthy to the previous rego. So I had to bring the bike into one of the inspection bays, and I had to take it out of the back of the ute, and town was packed so the nice close park I had was no good and I had to park quite far away. After all that the bike has no rear pegs but wasn't mod plated, so I had to rego it as a two seater. Which turns out is almost as expensive as a 4 cylinder car, so I'll be getting onto that pronto

Time for a bit of an update i guess. Getting Mod plated for a single seat was pretty easy, the local guy is really easy to deal with. He let me leave the rear seat in place after explaining that there's really no other option for these bikes unless you make your own cowl. So he whipped out his "happy" tape measure and said it was just undersize ;).

Now that i've put down a few K's it's come to my attention that one of the front rotors is slightly warped. I guess i'll be up for a new set soon.

I've also got a little product review for anyone interested
    [IMG]
I'm pretty sure these are the ones you see on ebay. I think it's roughly $50 for a set. The mirrors them selves are pretty good, adjust ability is decent, the LED's are bright enough but time will tell on the quality. The only down side i can see is that the placement of the LED's is at the bottom of the mirror and once you tilt the mirror up a little I'm not to sure how the visibility is. At the end of the day the price is right and they do clean up the look of the front a little.

My new clutch finally arrived and it went straight in. The old one wasn't to bad but it did slip a little in the upper rpm's. Also lubed up the cable and now shes silky smooth

I've also got a little Rev video for anyone interested

Let me know if the video doesnt work

I'll have to try and get a better one when everyone's off night shift. I might try and get a good vid with decent sound for the exhaust sound thread

Ordered a new pair of disc's on Thursday and they arrived today. Wasted no time getting into it. After i cleaned the disc's i thought it was a god idea to mark some arrows as they are universal (L/R) fit. Was an easy job with the dremel. Clean the threads in the wheel with a tap, used loctite on every bolt and she's done.

The pads i'm using are form supercheap. I'm not sure if it is all stores but they were on clearence for $10. How can you go wrong

Those vesrah pads are good, the discs look like metalgear which means same stuff as me ;)
Bear in mind those pads take ALOT to bed in, be careful when you first put them on

They seem too be pretty good so far. Certainly can't argue for the price. Only half the pad on the inside of the left disc is grabbing so I'm assuming the pins need some new grease?
