    Hi Folks!

As the title sort of sums up. I've having problems with my zxr250a model bike lighting up
    all four sex pockets.

Carb has just been through a clean and 1 spark plug replaced (with new caps for all). Now
When i turn her over only 2 of the four cylinders are hot at the extractors. the middle two
exhaust are cold/warm while the outside ones are untouchable (hot).

Bike is making a very diffrent sound now since it's been mechanically neutered somehow.

Any suggestions are much appreciated as it's all making me very sad indeed...

Edit: Forgot to mention she needs a new battery
(which i have bought and is being charged at battery world current-ly :p)

Hey Waku,  welocme ot the fourm..  I know they are paint in the ar$e to get to, but how are the middle 2 plugs ?  Also when you cleaned the carbs, did you check the main jet and pilot jets for blockages ?  The only other thing it could be is a coil failure or the coil leads are arking, ' I'd check the plugs first and while the leads are off, I would earth a plug to the head to check there is spark.
thats all I can think off ATM
    thanks
    Chris

I agree ..... I would be checking the caps are properly seated on the plug but also if they have been screwed into the lead correctly.....was there nice shiny new wire at the end? ....if not, trim a small section off (5mm?) so theres fresh wire for the cap to screw into.
Also ,as plugs are cheap, I would replace all at once.
Make sure the correct lead is going to the correct cylinder.

Funny you mention that because i distinctly remember something looking like smurf **** in the end of the leads. no "wire" in sight.

I'll take a look tonight and get back to both of you.

    Thanks!

    *Update*

Okay so i took the radiator off to pull one of the middle spark plug/caps out which is stuck like crazy,

Finally got it off and the spark plug didn't even look like it had been fired once. Also noticed their is thread on the lead end of the cap and to the spark plug. but since i just pushed in the others and they seem to fire i don't think this is a massive no no.

Pulled off one of the coils and didn't have a tester, so i'll pick one up when i get my new battery on the weekend.

Im thinking either the coil is dead or the battery is some how so stuffed that it won't fire it?

in anycase i'll find out on saturday.

    Cheers dudes.

Yea not much u can do till u have an A1 battery.

Not sure what u mean here  :icon_scratch:
And if u pushed on the plug caps to the leads then they are supposed to be screwed in.

    Hey Guys,

Sorry it's been a while since an update.

but i've managed to sort my problem out :).

I believe the problem was as simple as the spark plug leads not
being screwed into the caps properly. Although i did disconnect/reconnect
a lot of wiring at the coils and rectifier so maybe i bumped something
into life  :icon_scratch: . Otherwise it was the battery change that did it. Oh and i put
the only caps back on. Damn.. i really should have tested each stage to find
out exactly what it was. well the answers in there somewhere if you're crossing this post
    5 years from now.

Thanks for offering the coils kiffsta but looks like mine are operating fine  :occasion14:
Also thanks to GreyImport for his wisdom. It did wonders.
