    You shouldn't be able to turn your headlight off anyway so it's not that.

    EDIT: Oh, and you mean your left handlebar. BTW, if it's on the back part of the handlebar it could be the pass switch for flashing your high beams.

    They used to have a ON/OFF switch for the headlights, but I have never seen a bike with one fitted. I suspect they were removed to meet australian compliance standards.

    missing switch

    I have a 88 2KR, and Dave is right about it being the switch that you can use to turn the lights on/off, ( At least on mine).

    I was just in the basement working on my bike and checked. Mine still has the swich there (and is functional). It has 3 positions, On, PO, and Off. I tried PO ( whatever that means) and the lights are on, but the headlight bulbs are dimmer. Kinda like a daytime running light. When I switch it back to On, the headlights are bright again.

    Don't know if that was any help though <!-- s:zzz: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sleeping.gif" alt=":zzz:" title="Sleeping" /><!-- s:zzz: -->

    I dont know What PO stands for but the dim light is your parking light . Mine comes on when you turn the ignition key all the way to the left 1 click after the stearing lock

    The only button that is under the Run/Off switch (on the right handlebar) is the START button.

    my 400 still has the switch, most fzr"s had it permanently in the on position and the lever broken and covered with a sticker.

    you can still access PO(parkers only) by turning the ignition one position after the steering lock.
