    Hi guys
Awhile back i bought a 2011 megelli 250r and have had issues starting it. When i bought it the guy had cut the key switch out and was going to replace it but couldnt work out what he done. I noticed where he cut the wires that it had 4 wires coming out one red, one black, one green and one white/blue but on the key switch there are only 3 wire red, black, and green. I wired them back to the key switch leaving the blue/white out and went to start the bike , it fires over but once i let go of the start button it dies immediately. There is and earth that comes from the coil right around to near the solanoid but carnt figure out where it goes. Any help would be much appreciated.

ignition switch has 4 wires coming out of it with a flat 4 pin connector at the end.these are the colours-red,green,black/white stripe and black. the black/white connects at the connector with the blue/white wire while the others stay with their own colour.the coil has a striped wire connected to it and another wire is an earth conncted to the frame via the coil mounting bolt.
will undo the switch tmr to see where the wires connect to the bottom of it.
do you have the correct switch?

I did open the bottom of the keyswitch and there is 4 contact points but only 3 have wires soldered on. Looks like ill be buying a new keyswitch , thank you so much man for the information and your time

I just noticed that one the other contact point on the key switch looks like the black wire im missing has been broken off from the solder so ill fix that and give it a go

So i wired them up all correctly to the key switch but when i turn the keyswitch to off position the bike still has power to everything witch has me stumped. Ill be honest im not the best when it comes to electricals so any input on what wires make contact when the key switch is in the on position would be appreciated

their is a black wire near the solenoid that has a bolt hole in it and another similar one on the coil bracket bolt to frame so i am making assumption that black is earth. your images only say img on my computer.

will look in morning. when i looked there was a mass of wires near solenoid and one was not connected and was held together with a cable tie.

ok, here are the wires looking up from underneath as if switch was bolted in-left hand side starting from outside wire closest to allen headed bolt-green is no.1- number 2 on that side is black/white next moving anti clockwise on right hand side is no.3 red and closest to bolt on riht hand side is black.my switch has a plastic clip on cover to keep water out and has 3 locating press fit clips. hope this helps.
