What marking on the flywheel/rotor that I need to align with the line to put the engine on a compresion stroke(top dead center) so I can adjust the valves.
And what is the valve clearance?

friend,, the valve timing is pretty savage. take off petrol tank and battery and some gear underneath till you see the tappet covers. remove and turn motor over till valves are at the top. i do this by pushing bike in top gear. inlet valve clearance is 6 thou and exhaust 8 thou. exhaust is harder to do and you need monkey fingers.if the clearances are out the bike will not start when hot .on my bikes the valves came from the factory at 2 thou.

So the marking on the photo dont mean anything? Because I adjust the valve already with that line together

Im having troubles finding the top dead center. Cant take the spark plugs out as I dont have the right size tool.
Any ideas on how to put it on the tdc.

    need right size socket
but once the valve is closed it can be set.
    tdc is not needed.
the valves have little movement between open and shut.

put a manual fuel tap on and block the vacuum line.

Hey risky I still hear ticking noise after I adjust the valves already and the bike seems to rev pretty high 2500rpm-3000rpm. Cam chain tensioner maybe?

is the noise in the top or bottom of motor?the starter has an over ride ratchet on the crank, right hand side.would have to be along side motor to pick source. basically it needs a local mechanic and as the importer has collapsed the bike is now an orphan for parts.motor is zongshen and is used in other bikes from china.

wind motor till each valve is at the max closed position and reset valves on the tighter side.this is your next step before delving in motor.i know the starter over ride clutch operates on a ratchet system and they have played up.have you cleaned the oil filter. rhs ...2 6mm nuts and pulls out and can be washed.
