Im having a little trouble in that my bike is leaking a little oil from just above the headers and was wondering how i could go about fixing this...The picture highlights where im pretty much certain the leak is coming from!

Apparently you can get some spray-on sealant that will work...

I dont want to rely on some spray or additive to fix it..in case it is a crack, i dont think it would hold all that well...ill let you all know once i have a better look at it! :)

I wouldn't rely on any spray on fixes myself, from experience there is no easy way to plug up leaks you generally need to replace whatever caused the leak.

It's a bit had to tell from the photo but it looks like above where you've higlighted is dirty anyway, are you sure it's not the tappet covers? that's a fairly easy fix.

Outside that I know on cars I used to work on sometimes the studs on the headers would overexpand and pierce the head causing them to weep out oil, we used to fix it by removing the stud and threadsealing it.

Best way to work it out is to give it all a good clean down and get it really shiny, then take it for a quick blast and hopefully you will be able to see where the leak is.

Good luck and let me know how you go

I took the weekend to get right into it and decided to take the engine completely apart and also clean the carbs while i was at it...turns out it was just a rubbish gasket seal which had become worn i guess....i replaced everything with new gaskets and re did the oil and filter along with a carb balance at my local shop....bike is running like new, thanks for all the help ;)
