Hi guys I'm just wondering if anyone could help me out with finding a new engine for my 92 MC22?
I've got a popped engine in mine at the moment... :help:

Yeah sorry mate all I've really done so far is rang a few wreckers which came up with a few options (which i didnt really like too much: $1k-$1.5k for something they can't guarantee)
I'm new to the road bike scene as this is my first road bike and so I've never had to really work on the beast before. However I'm very mechanically minded (built a few cars and heavily modded motors before) so rebuilding is always an option but I just need to find out where to look for the parts or complete engine first and perhaps get some info on other people's experience and so on having to do this themselves.
Any help is and always will be greatly appreciated. :drinks:

    Welcome to the forum mate.
Plenty of folk with Honda MC22 around, perhaps by this evening you may get some responses from members if an engine is available. You've chosen a great bike, mechanical cams means less hassles with cam chains and tensioner.
Have a look in the classified section, there were some parts there of late.
Agree with you re. wreckers.... that's a little over the top in any ones book. Plenty of people race the MC22 over here, as I said good choice.

Yeah thanks mate I at least got to ride it enough to absolutely love it. Such a wicked sounding and handling bike (in my eyes) and get so many heads turning with the revs high!
Anyway I'm moving over to Melbourne ways at the end of the year so perhaps it could wait till then as there's not as many options over here that I've found. I work way too often to have time to really miss riding the pocket rocket unless I see a whole heap of riders going past all together...

Oh yeah I sure do miss riding it...:headbang:

Don't bother with the wreckers. If you're really stuck, go buy the cheapest MC22 you can find and part it out. You can easily make your money back selling the parts off.

I waited for about a month and some guy from CBR250.com contacted me with an engine. $400! I know some guys on here can get a whole bike for less than that (you know who you are!) but given the time and the fact I had 7 bikes, all of which didn't run, it seemed like a wise move.

Not sure what the market is like in WA but I see good deals popping up over there fairly often, mostly on dirt bikes though.

Pull the engine down to see what's actually gone on. There's a heap of second hand internals going around.

What actually broke in the engine?
