how its explained it does sound like fuel starvation to me. does the mc22 have a fuel pump or is it vacuum? something has to be blocked somewhere so i would check all fuel lines and vacuum lines and fuel filters.

With the tank off i would test that the tap is flowing freely correctly as well. when my bike was dying only on the highway i changed the fuel filter for a high flow one and walla problem solved.

When I took the fuel tank off last night and I turned the fuel tap on it didn't drain so im guessing it's vacuum.

To unblock the breather i cut about 1 metre of whipper snipper line and run it thru this hole until it comes out the bottom a couple of times or you could use compressed air

I would also be looking at the internal filter #2 and cleaning the internals of the petcock.

You have had the tank off already so getting the petcock out is pretty much half done. you can do this no worries.:thumb_ups:

to check the flow of the fuel tap try opening the fuel lid so that you can see the rate of flow with out a vacuum interfering.

I Do not know how to do this. I took it for another wurl today and it just dies at any speed over 60km and any gear.

If this bike dies at 70Km/h in any gear, the revs and fueling won't be the same. I suggest that you disconnect the speedo and go for a run, may be something in the instrument effecting the cut out. Also check the side stand spring. If this is weak it may be allowing the stand to droop at speed and bringing the engine cut on. Try riding with a rubber band around the stand to hold it up.

This is what I think: I went for a ride yesterday and I had to pull over 5 times to let it idle and fix itself. Just before I was at my location it actually just turned off and died on the side of the road. I was sitting their for abit trying to get it start then I pulled the choke out and walla bang it started. it was still really doey but atleast I think I found that its a fuel intake problem. Im thinking that when you pump the speed over 60k's it carnt draw enough fuel to keep up with the speed demand. So either the fuel filter is clogged????? or the air filter is abit clogged????? one or the other I know that the bike isn't getting enough fuel over the speed of 60. it runs awesome at 60 and under so im thinking it's one of these. Where do I look to check the fuel filter and air filter?

So did u follow any of Murdos advice?

And if we look back on the thread u will see that fuel starvation is mentioned and in particular the fuel filter.

When senior members give advice or suggestions its because they know wat they are talking about.

Dont change multiple things at once ...... start with the fuel filter ....if it actually has one
pull the tank up and follow the fuel line that goes towards the carbys from the fuel tap

I'll take 2 stabs in the dark here:

    1) Diaphragms in your carburetors might have holes or rips in them

    Or

    2) float bowls aren't filling quick enough to cope with the demands of of load and rpm which brings us back to a Vacuum/ fuel flow problem

I recommend you pull all your spark plugs out and post photos and label which cylinder they came from

Further more these bikes are not hard to work on have some faith in yourself and have a go ask questions here and people will help you out if you put in 100% and give it your best shot

I recently rebuilt/resealed the carburetors on my FZR having never touch a set of carburetors in my life with the help of this forum and a little bit of research it was a piece of piss
