G'day, looking at buy a new bike for commuting & weekend enjoyment, any suggestions? Leaning toward a daelim vjf 250, they're cheap, economical & don't seem to have any major issues.

sales pitch is cow manure and money is tite so any sale to get cash flow is better than no sale. business is tuff.

    Still undecided ...

I am looking at getting a cheap ride for work & getting around town, I've had a look at a new daelim vjf 250 & hyosung gt 250, both fit my small budget & both have been around awhile, which would be the better buy? I would like to buy a new bike that's low maintenance & reliable.

From what I read they both had issues when the first models were released but as far as I know now the new
models are ok in that area.

Personally the hyosung as my mate loves his and its not a bad ride.

But which one are you most comfortable on? Which bike suits your riding style?

if you want a new bike thats cheap, well built and uses 2.8L/100km's, i highly recommend Yamaha's 2013 YZF-R15 Version 2.0, its a very reliable EFI 150cc alloy block & forged alloy piston bike that lack power but makes up with its handling. maintenance is low and it looks great. I got one new as my first bike for $3750 (ex demo with 200km's)

the only thing you wont like about these bikes is when u face a steep hill.

pros: fuel efficiency, handling, low maintenance and awesome reliability. build quality, cost.

    cons: power.

yeah they do need a 250 in that class, would be popular if it could compete against the ninja 300
