Im as keen as mustard with this one anyone else. Although its not really a race because its the 1st one it looks like a great weekend away with the bike. Briz. Sorry dont know how to do links.
Fellas has anyone had a think about this Lions TT thing. Also is anyone going out to Lake Side on the weekend of the 26th September. Briz.
Would love to do it, but by the time I enter, three nights accommodation, petrol to get there, food for the three days and any thing to drink it all gets beyond my budget. I will leave it for the young, cashed up people.
Murdo hope to see you in 5 years time when hopefully Australia will have a full blow TT/ road race to rival all the others in the world. Speaking of which where are all the other road races/ TTs ?.
I will leave it for @Brizfox to do a write up of the event, but I did get some pics of him coming under the bridge More pics here - http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?showcase/lions-tt-kyogle.100/
Well thanks for the pics Chris. The strange thing is that ( maybe its when your riding on the edge) that I thought I saw you coming into that last turn. Anyway the day started well , arrived at 8.00 for scroting and check in. Yet again was amazed at the collection of bike, big mention to Wayne of brisbane Bike Transort who I rode with( Kiff he has a Moto Guzzi with carbon Fibre RS 250 rims) NICE. we were 2nd group of 20. No road closure in QLD side meant that spped limits must be obeyed, and the police had cameras and an RBTon the short strech to the border. Funny part was that because I have a rare 2 stroke bike it drew lots of the right attention from the motor bike cops once we arrived at the border even got a smile and a thumbs up from a young motor bike cop. We the went on from there in 30 second intervals, I was pushed to the front of my group with all the big boys saying :" because your the oldest bike you lead" and there were some big boys in my group, Dukes R1s Arrpilias and the like, The ride from there was great lots of twists and turns mostly 2nd 3rd and the 4th gears thring to keep the revs in the busy end. then it fatened out and everything seamed to be a tight left, a wooden bridge and the a toight right folled by a 100m straight culminating a nice lat half Km to Ripples. I got of the bike shaking because even though I had thought not to go to hard, what I had just ridden on was for the most part a goat rack, pot hole and the like. The sprints werwe moved to Casino Airfield. I did about 8 or 9 passes the over a qtr mile and mangaed to clock 190KMs while working on my standing starts, the BMWs were amazing I reconc the were hitting 2 nd gear about the eighth of mile but funny to hear the rev limiters on some of the other bikes. But you know what I hope the organisers take what money that has been made to fix some of the bad bits because I will definatley be back again bcause it was well worth it. PS the Little NSR 250 was only passed by Wayne on his 1100 or so Motor Guzzi.
