I use Jay-el leather dressing (available from horse, feed, agricultral and hardware stores) on most of the plastics of my bikes. It is good for the vynal on the seats and some rubber bits too. Its main ingredient is bees wax and it has not done any damage to any paint work that has accidently got a bit on it. Application is by rag or old tooth brush to get into the corner bits. It does not work very well on shiny plastics, but the rougher/courser types soak it up well. This is the mudguard extention of my CFMoto quad bike. It is looking dry and scratched. One coat of the Jay-el, leave in sun for a couple of hours, polish with a clean rag and although still scratched looking much better. Give it a try, you may even use it on your boots, gloves, etc.
Hey Murdo Since you posted last time, I have used a similar product from the same firm with excellent results. I used it also on the rear plastic mudguard on the Bandit, front and rear indicators, plastic surround on rear tail light and an old pair of gloves that had started to change colour, all with an wonderful outcome. Thanks for the tip mate
I have a tub of this stuff just tested on a very faded indicator lookin good! Pics to come. Cheers murdo, GI and Phil!
This is the results of a quick wipe over and not cleaning first before after So the results are great i cant wait to do it properly to all the black plastics when the bike gets a detail saturday
Dubbin worked brilliantly for me on the faded red and black plastics on Rosie! Will post some pics sometime this week, even though she's not a 250. Also worked quite well on Scarlet.
Not bad... Been using Mothers back to black, well it works but quite to expensive. Will try this product to see and compare its finish.
