14 Months and several stressfull nights and a over blown budget and it looks like I finally am about to have my baby complete

The Last hurdle before I can register the beast is....

whats the best way to repair some minor cracks in the main fairing.. the bike was dropped before I bought it and has a crack in the bottem of the main fairing where there is that hole that lets you see the Yamaha Logo on the electronics part of the engine

it's not major but I just want to secure it and make sure everything is perfect for when I register it

I've read a few ideas like fiberglassing it... hobby glue... and a few others

I was just wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem and what you guys did to fix it

Id prob just get some fibreglass sheets and resin..and just fibreglass it from the back to give it some strength...Ive got a major crack in my front fairing above the mirror. Someone has obviously lent on it and its just gone crackkk. Though I cbf fibreglassing it..I just used some suprglue...its made it a little bit stronger....but its still week. The wind visor holds it in place and gives it stability anyway...its only when I take it off that its all floppy lol.

http://www.plastex.net.au/ - this works great on minor cracks. You can also replicate and minor parts (or parts of larger ones) with it. I created a new tab for a screw that attaches the main fairing below the side stand.

It also depends on what you want done. If you just want to reinforce the crack so it does not spread putting fibreglass on the inside of the fairing works great, and does not need to look pretty because no one will ever see it. If you want to actually have the crack repaired from teh outside then perhaps plastex will work? (but then you have to paint / sand / paint / sand etc.)

    Never tried superglue myself...
