Its F*&kin Stuck

    Hey all

    My sump plug is so damn tight that when i try turn it (and yes im turning it the right way) the whole bike lifts up before the tool breaks..

    any idea's?

    Hold your socket onto it, keep pressure on it and tap on the direction of the thread with a reasonable amount of force. Hit it 10 to 20 times and it should be ready to come off.

    Also if you have a bar or ring spanner that fits over the end of your ratchet you can use it to increase the length of the ratchet, therefore increasing the lever and therefore force applied.

    thanks, tried all that.. but its just roundind the bold even worse

    BUT GOOD NEWS.. i heated up around the sump plug area with a hand held blow torch then managed to undo the plug


    YAYAYAY.. finally.

    I was going to say you could heat it but I really wasnt sure how, um, much common sense a reader might have..so heating around a sump can be a little, well, fun....

    I also forget about the rounding off of bolts nowadays as I predominantly use Metrinch spanners and sockets.
