im sick of smashing off my front indicator lights when you accidentally tip over.
i got a 3ln 1991. 3 times Ive come off round town and either one of my front indicators
has smashed off cos of their dumb location, but the rear indicators never get touched.
had some spare rear indicators in the garage and thought might as well put them to good use and save me
some money so i customized them to fit on the front and i must say they work a treat. especially when pulling the fairings off!!

    heres what i did
    1) take off applicable fairings for access

    2) took the black air tubes that run underneath your hand grips and
positioned the rear indicator with mounting bracket (pic 1) marked it and drilled a hole in
the air tube just big enough for the mounting bolt.
(WARNING!!!) WHEN DRILLING THE HOLE MAKE SURE TO DRILL IT AS FAR FORWARD AS PRACTICALLY POSSIBLE.
THIS WILL MAKE INSTALLATION A LOT EASIER AND ENSURE YOUR TOOLS DON'T DEPART ON ANY UNAUTHORIZED
    FLIGHTS TO THE OTHER END OF THE GARAGE! <!-- s:angry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/th_Angry.gif" alt=":angry:" title="angry" /><!-- s:angry: --> <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: -->

    3) then threaded the rear indicator with its mounting L bracket and bolt back through the fairing and propped it in
position with the bolt snug in the drilled hole holding it in place to make sure its position and orientation looked alright.

    4) then took it all out again with the black air tube as well and fastened the mounting bracket to the tube off the
bike with a big flat washer and nut inside. (pic 3) THIS IS TO MAKE IT EASIER AND IS ALSO THE MOST TRICKY PART OF THE WHOLE MOD.

    5) if you managed that alright now disconnect the indicator unit from the mounting bracket via the Phillips head screw underneath
the indicator unit, (pic 4) then slide straight off. (pic 5) this (should be a spacer come out with the bolt)
install back on bike, put indicator on and connect up wiring and test it. (pic 6)
    THE END

Still a little bit of the image not showing but you can see the bike now, as you said earlier, you can press CTRL & - to make the post smaller and see the pics more, might memo Dave to see if he can set a default image setting .

Using Firefox, right-click and select "View Image". Gives a resized full-screen view.
