Hi all! I'm new here just going a bit bike crazy lately and my wife and mates are getting a bit sick of hearing about it lol. Thought id join a forum i recently purchased a suzuki across for a bargain price and have been doing it up a bit. 8) Also i have come across a photo of an across with a modified seat and cant find any relevant info on how to make it or if its a part from another bike modified to fit the across. here is the pic http://suzukiacross.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/1991_across_red_chile_1.jpg As you can see the seat is modified and i love it. Anyone know of a fairing that may fit perfectly or you think i will have to fibreglass one up myself? I look forward to hearing some peoples opinions =)
Hey Olonus913, welcome to the fourm, I havnt ever seen a commerically made seat cowl for an Across, I guess your going have to make one, or get the seat shortened and recovered by a motor trimer. Chris
Welcome to the forum you have come to the right place if you are bike mad as no one here will complain about that. ;D There are a lot of across owners or ex owners who will be happy to offer there advice on fixing it up.
Also here is a pic of my across that i purchased last week. I bargained so hard and had cash my final offer was $1000 lol. Now i am a proud owner of this great bike and angry wife hehehe. All it needed was a new front left fairing windscreen and indicators. I purchased the fairing, windscreen, indicators and new grips for under $200 im quite happy so far =)
Hey olonus913 Just wanted to welcome you to the forum. Also fine selection of bike, the Across is an awesome machine. A little quirky at times but has features many of us would love to have Incorporated on other bikes. Saw the picture of the seat cowling, nice work. I would hazard a guess that this came from Japan, could be wrong? It follows the exact contour of the bike and looks great. I would keep searching the net and see what you find. We have a classified section that may have parts if you need them. You will also find many members with same bike and have immense knowledge and are happy to share information. Spend some time browsing, sure you'll find much helpfull information. As always, enjoy the ride. Phil
