I have my chain and sprocket set sitting here and I know how to change the sprockets but I have no idea how to cut the chain..I got a DID chain with 136 links but I don't know how to cut and connect them.... will a bike shop charge very much to cut and join tha chains?? thanks
i wouldn't think so as it would only take them about 15mins to do, but...... you could do it yourself by buying a chain breaker/riveter tool from a bike shop - and an angle grinder (or borrow one) - you need to grind down the rivet heads with the grinder and then force them out with the chain breaker tool - then the links will just drop out. probably be cheaper once off just to get a mechanic to do it but if your gonna do it a few times over your riding career it might be worth buying the tool thingo..
