hey guys just bought my first bike (3LN 1991) Fizzer! Very happy boy atm

But just wondering how often should I service my bike, and what is the difference between major service and a minor service and how often these should be done.

Also finally should I do it myself or take it to the bike shop?

Thanks in advance any info would help greatly as I am quite new to bikes

Minor service - oil and filter, carb sync, check chain and sprockets - every 6000km or more often

    Spark plugs ever 12000km

Major service - check valve clearance, brake fluid replacement, air and fuel filter, replace rubber radiator, brake and fuel hoses?, lube chassis suspension points, and replace coolant and inhibitor, etc. every 24000km

None of this is really difficult, try and do it yourself and save a bundle of $$$$$

There is probably more that some-one else may add that I have overlooked.
