So anyways, this happened last week. Thanks to my Dad who sharpened the tip of a flat head screw driver just enough and managed to unscrew the threaded bit without damaging anything. She fires up again better than ever. Phew!
lucky man indeed, you need to right tool for the job... I have old plug tool from a FZR, works a treat in the in-line 4's , especially those pesky ones in the centre 2 pots
Does it come from an original FZR tool kit? ...... if so Id like to see that Did the inline 4s actually come with a tool kit? Does your son buy u beers when u fix his bike ?
I will treat my dad to a nice steak and a glass of red for the trouble he saved me from. heheheh I was lucky that it was an outer pot. Those inside ones are a pain. **FYI a single plug costs 40FJD =22USD.... So yeah!!! I had to buy one replacement to make it work but usually order sets from the US which cost half, shipping included.
holy crap, almost a repeat of yongpc's across - to avoid such cliff hanger plug removals in future, invest in some copper grease and a torque wrench
Hmm still available too ..... for an arm and a leg http://www.partspak.com/ProductCart/pc/Yamaha-1WG-W2810-00-00-Tool-Kit-1WGW28100000-p141050.htm
