hey guys, just changed my radiator coolant today in prep. for summer.
i mixed it 40% coolant and 60% water, made up a 2L bottle.

anyway i poured the water in til the radiator was full, ran the bike til the temp guage read hot. stopped bike refilled radiator and overflow.

my question is, i have only used about 3/4 of the 2L bottle. does this sound right?

i would have thought the cooling system was larger than 2L.???

Soprry greeny...no idea mate...I think 50% for extreme conditions is recommended for cars (coolant - water ratio). 2L sounds about right to me...as cars I think are roughly 4-5 litres.

Two litres is about right, make sure that you drained all coolant (this sometimes doesn't happen if the bike isn't centered). The trick to pour the coolant while the bike is centered so that it flows into all the nooks and crannies. Then start the motor and let it pump for a few seconds. Then top it back up to the top of the cap. Next refill the resevoir to the mid level and let the bike run up to normal temperature (if the level of the resevoir rises draw a little out, likewise, if it lowers put a little in).
