    Hi all

New to these bikes, but just bought 2 bikes. 1989 and 1990, ones red and the other black.

Hoping you will all be able to help me get them on the road as both are non runners.

    Regards Justin

Honda Spada, great bike. Is it your intention to resurrect both bikes or is one a donor??

Thanks phill and risky for he welcome! I intend on getting both on the road, the 1989 is completely in bits ( not my doing), it was someone's project. He attempted to change a timing chain and has dropped it in the bottom of the motor. I have retrieved the chain but do not know where the timing marks should be to reinstall? The rest of the bike has been cleaned and mostly painted, so won't take much to get back together.

The other bike is a 1990 and strangely it has a full fairing, never seen one before? It is not running! I have checked all the wiring is correct and it will turn over but has no spark? There is 12v to the coils, the annoying thing is twice it has done one spark and then nothing? Wondering if there is something I have missed?

    :welcome: Hi Justin.
The spark problem may be due to the pick up sensor not giving the correct reading to the coils. Look up the manual and see what the resistance reading should be and give them a test.
Where you located so we might have somebody near by to help you.

I live in Newmarket in Brisbane.

I will check the pick up sensors, any idea where they are? I don't have a manual at the moment. I will look at getting one from somewhere. I can check the resistance on the other bike, hopefully they are good?
    Thanks for the help!

Manuals are available on here. Sensors are located in the engine side case. Follow the wires from coils back to the engine.

Welcome. The Spada is a nice little bike, almost bought one when I was shopping for my learner bike last year.

The price was good but I found the riding position a bit cramped for someone my height.

Thanks Murdo, I'll take a look today. As to the manuals, that's great I'll do a search in the forum for them. Thanks again

Premium membership costs $5 and gives you access to the manuals.

Pretty much. There is a link you can use to upgrade to premium membership from the menu under your username if I remember correctly.

Send kiffsta, GreyImport or The_Huntsman a pm if you donate so they can sort out your access.

    Hey Justin
Kiffsta owned a Spada for a period and used it as his daily commute. The bike was a winner in my opinion.:thumb_ups:

On that note, I should probably start a new thread for Eric's café conversion, done a lot of work on him lately.

Pics are very good for helping with troubleshooting. Also you can see the progress you've made over time. :)
