Well, I spotted a CB250F MC31 on a Facebook group for cheap, the engine had done a rod and was out of the bike. Knowing I have a spare MC22 engine tucked away in the corner, I thought beauty, I will grab it and see if I can get it on the road. The seller was awesome, she gave me a great price via Facebook messenger and we arranged to meet tonight so I could collect it. The bike is what it is, no pics tonight but will get some tomorrow once I unload it all. Should be fun fixer upper....er This is what they look like from the factory
well guess what, the motor wont fit MC22 engine has bolt holes on the inlet side to brace to the frame, MC31 has bolts holes on the exhaust side. #fuckityfuckfuck
You can't swap the left and right mount's around ? What about some sort of extension, bolt it up to the frame mount's and extend it back ?
its cast into the engine case, alas its a lost cause without some serious engineering, I didn't pay a lot for it, time for it to be broken up for parts.
Sound's like the easy way out, lol. It's cast into the cylinder isnt it? Can you swap cylinder's/head's or not worth the time and effort involved?
on the MC14e engine, the cylinder is part of the top case, as its done a rod, I suspect there will be some internal damage
