    Bike is looking great!
Hello there Fred! I am another proud owner of a 1983 Honda CB250RS that "was" in completely original condition until last week when a vision impaired female driver felt like smashing apart my dash! I've sourced parts for the repair, all bar an ignition barrel!
Is it at all possible you have a spare ignition barrel for sale? Or know any part numbers to help me delve deeper into my search??

Thanks in advance for any help or information you can provide.

    Cheers, Chris.

    Hi Chris,

Genuine ignition barrels are hard to come by as these bikes are over 30 years old. I might have one somewhere but your best bet might be eBay. Aftermarket ones aren't very expensive if you're not worried about keys matching!

Thanks Fred. I still have mine it has just snapped off the base and broke all the pin connectors, so was thinking if I could get my hands on one similar and perhaps swap the interior barrel off my old one into it I would still be able to use my original keys (too continue matching the tank and rear storage compartment).
    Ebay it is!

    Cheers

I do have a working genuine one with a wrecked barrel that now takes an old door key (and possibly a screwdriver).

Send me a private message (called conversations on this forum) if you want to give that one a go.
