Hi guys have continued looking for a bike and have come across a cb250f (hornet).
Looking for some advice on parts availability
haven't viewed the bike as yet but seller has said chain and bars are rusty
have done a brief google search but not been to successful in locating parts.
Are the cb600f parts compatible and also found some info that the older cbr250 motors were the same.any advice welcome

I like them, they have a more upright riding position, swept up pipes and from memory use a similar engine as the cbr250. Not certain about parts, sure they won't be to hard to locate. You could do far worse.

The Honda CB250F is a series of unfaired motorcycles which was launched in 1996. Also known as the Honda 250 Hornet. Powered by a slightly detuned version of the inline 4 cylinder, 4 stroke engine originally found in the Honda CBR250 (Engine code MC14E-XXXX), it produces around 40 PS at 14,000 RPM to its redline of 16,000 RPM. The tuning allows the engine to provide more useful low-end power. The bike features a 6 Speed Transmission and a 16 litre tank.

The Hornet is a grey import (unofficially imported into Australia) so that might hamper the parts availability , but being a Honda and having a "CBR" engine there should be hopefully plenty around.
From some brief research it seems there was alot imported also, so thats a positive for parts availability....... and yes also noticed some 600 bits were compatible.

Rusty chain is no big deal but shows the bike has sat for a time (probably out in the weather as well)..... so it will need a full inspection on all the usual things as no doubt the fluids will be old and in need of changing etc etc.

Heres something common such as brake pads ......

Seems theres alot of the bikes in the UK.....
