Welcome Monsigna. Lots of helpful people on this forum.

Regarding parts, I am performing medical experiments on these twin choke style carbs. If it works out I will do carb kits for the 250/400s. You can see the 400 version, a work in progress, here. http://litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Suzuki_GSXR400_GK71.html

Welcome Monsigna. My wife has an '87 model of that bike and I think SIMON knows these bikes better than most. I'm not too knowledgeable, but I assume the red paint job is aftermarket? Looks good though. Enjoy.

thanks all for the kind reply's, and the links/info....I will be taking my time, always do, don't have much choice tbh lol...... yes it was metallic black originally, the guy I purchased it from had it sprayed red....not sure about the colour....but its certainly different. I managed to get the rear brake calliper off.....not pretty at all....the seals had perished, thus, fluid loss + oxygen=corrosion to the extreme...... I had to use my grease gun to get the almost seized pots out of the calliper.
