I recently refound my RG250 Mk1 (I believe) standing in my fathers barn where I left it 12 years ago. After blowing air in the tires, refilling fuel and whiping most of the dust off, I tried starting it. Three kicks and it started!
Welcome to the forum. What an amazing story, mind you it is a Suzuki Would like to see some photo's of your bike.
You recently found it? Ok that made me laugh. "Damn! Now where did I leave that Suzuki?" Let me guess, you left it there while you went down to the corner store to get some coffee. Came back, made a brew and drank the coffee with your Dad. The phone rang. The neighbours cat had its tail caught in a blender, so you and your Dad went over to lend a hand. After taking the cat to the vet clinic in your neighbours car (your neighbour couldn't drive because he lost two fingers whilst trying to rescue the cat), your wife came and picked you both up and took you home. The next morning you had to catch an early flight to Madagascar to rescue some stranded penguins and when you finally returned three weeks later the Suzuki slipped your mind? Jokes aside, a warm welcome to the forum, Eivind. cheers Blair
Not quite. I bought in in 1999 as an impulse. And it borrowed the plates from my -75 500 Four and had some trips around in the local area. It was then moved to my fathers barn while renovating my house. Then children came along and time were used up. Last year my father advised me to get rid of it (as he has done regularly during the last years). Thinking I would get a higher price if working I prepared it for starting. Changed gear oil, bled the carbs, disconnected the oil hose and filled with mix of gas/oil (2%) since I did not know the state of the oil pump. Drove it 1000km (with new tires) last year with no problems except some spark plugs went out, and this year about 500km. Stoll running on 2% mix. Now I've lost spark. Replaced spark plugs, finding that coil is not the original (2,5 ohm prim and 11,5 kohm sec) and also that the pick up coil measurement is not correct. But hey, I get to spend time in the garage! And thanks for your welcomes, appreciate it!
