Hi all, Just wanted to say a quick hello. Seems like a great forum with a lot of like minded people. I've mainly been into dirt bikes and newer road bikes in the past but I just took the plunge and bought a Honda 1996 NSR250 SE MC28 R2T which will keep me busy tinkering for the next few months. I'm sitting up in the Papua New Guinea Highlands right now and can't wait to get back to town to strip the new/old bike down and start rebuilding. The bike is sporting Chinese Rothmans Replica fairings with a tank skin right now but this will likely change; although it does look pretty nice and the fairings aren't actually that bad quality, just the decals leave a little to be desired. May end up just painting the tank to match, buggered if I know. Anyway photo attached if anyone wants to take a look. Cheers Jim
Hi Jim ..... welcome to the community. It does look a tidy bike ..... but yes , what is lurking underneath is the question! Feel free to start a build thread when u return as we always like to see and learn when a bike is pulled down and rebuilt. Should we ask what has u in the Highlands of PNG ?
Hi mate. Yeah I might start a thread up I think. No worries with the questions. Currently working up on the PNG LNG Hides project for Exxon Mobil. This may be a stupid question but how do you "specify" for your nickname to replace your name? Can't seem to work it out.
WOW a MC28 nice ( mental note, we need a drool icon) Welcome to the forum, if you want me to change your username from your name to a nickname, then send me a PM (start a conversation), only takes a few mins. Chris
Hey Jim, Welcome to where the cool kids play with their toys. Nice bike, and yes Chris drool icon is needed. Good luck with it Darren
Thanks Darren. Seems like a really good forum to be on. There is some great threads and everyone seems keen to share knowledge. There is a lot of riders from Brisbane too. Looking forward to tagging along on a few rides down the track - as long as no-one minds a forty something cramping their style .
No worries, and I'm a forty something too. Knowledge level is awesome and everyone is quick to help out!
Thanks Risky. Looking forward to getting it up and around the mountains north of Brisbane. Should be a bit of a weapon up there I think.
