    does anyone know or has anyone tried taking the headlight unit apart so you can get to the internals i wana do a little mod inside. ive seen some people do other bikes on you tube but theres are just plain plastic which they put in the oven to melt the glue and soften the plastic then they pry it apart with a screwdriver. would this be the same? the metal clips are easy enough to flip off.

    I had a quick look at some 3LN twin headlights i have lying around in the garage and id say the heating thing will work.

    PS: If you try it and ruin your headlights, you can have these ones super cheap. I dont need em, and i cant be bothered waiting to sell them for "the right price" if you know wat i mean.

    thanks for the offer dude. just to make sure, are you talking about the single headlight with two bulbs inside or the older headlight which looks like two round headlights merged together.
    and how much would you let them go for?

    Yeah they're the older 3LN1 style double-round headlights. If thats the type of headlight you've got, you can have these ones for $30? NZ dollars in case you're in Ozzy or elsewhere. I dunno if thats cheap enough to risk. I just thought if that was me wanting to try that, id be keen to give it a crack if i could replace them for less than $50 ya know? Just puttin it out there for ya.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! LOL <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: -->

    WELL IM HAPPY TO REPORT IT WORKED. i managed to get it apart....... bit to well maybe he he i cant stop giggling.
    warning to all out there who are lucky enough to see this, i preheat my oven to 250 Celsius then i put the headlight unit only in (no wires) the oven took light bulbs out i made sure to rest it on a flat tray on the metal light bulb retainers headlight facing upwards, and prop the side with a metal object to stop it from toppling over. the reason is you don't want any plastic touching hot oven metal eg tray, rack.
    where i went wrong was listening to the guy on you tube on the recommended time to leave it in for. he said put it at 350!!! for five minutes and his turned out fine. what i failed to realize was that hes in America and they work in imperial (stupid Americans)lol so 350F equates to roughly 180C (stupid me). mind you he still struggled to pry his apart. mine literally fell apart.
    so my recommendation would be 180C for 3 min then check it and if needed put it back in for another 2 min. (you can always do more you can never do less)
    the only damage was the 4 lug holes which you bolt the headlight onto the bike were warped outa shape so im just gonna cut them off and get someone to plastic weld new ones on.
    had to be me didn't it. lol just had to be me <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

    there angel eyes but these are different. these will be able to change from predominantly white to red or green or blue with the turn of a rotary switch. using a single multi colored led the wiring's going to be nasty im doing it in parallel not series. never done anything like this before.
    will post pics when im finished.
