ok. sold my bike to a friend and now we are making it good.
vfr400 nc30 swingarm going to be first.
we will make a full blog when we get something more interesting than 'its all in pieces' to put.

we will also take some useful stats as we go along. so anyone want to know anything we can try and help.
the swingarm width at pivot is 206/7mm with the spacers and caps on. without its about 202mm. and its a 17mm spindle in a 19 bearing.

Got the bike in bits, for anyone considering a rebuild or major maintenance the bike can be stripped to the frame in a day no problem. The engine can be lifted easily and isen't a handful to get out the frame without anything other than a few towels and a cushion to deliver the engine onto. It is a tight fit of course so when all of the engine bolts are removed the engine will just sit there. A rock back and forth straddling the bike will set it free.

The first plan is a vfr 400 nc 30but most likely will have to be an rvf 400 swingarm. I'll post some pictures of the fzr swingarm with dimensions in an hour or so, as we spent ages trying to find some and the ones we did find we all different.

The rvf is said to be thinner than the vfr nc30 (193mm to 202mm)

IF ANYONE HAS A VFR NC30 OR RVF SWINGARM WITH ALL THE WASHERS ETC FOR THE MAIN PIVOT POINT AND COULD TAKE A PHOTO AND A MEASUREMENT IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

    more to come...

    And hello to you all <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    Main frame pivot point width:

With end caps, which have a washer inside: 207mm-208mm Width <Full width>

Without any washers and no endacps: 200mm-201mm Width

    Others:

    Shock top to bottom: 324mm
Shock centre of both bolt holes (approximate): 300mm
Front Main pivot to rear wheel spindle: 550mm
Gap in the frame for triangular shaped in link piece: 29mm

Like I said in a previous post, if anyone has those vfr/rvf swingarm dimension and pictures that would be great but added to that dimensions of the shock and linkages would be great too.

You know how these things go, one minute a project seems like a great idea the next you need the space and money for something else.

Well the tail fairings are now gone but the rest of the bike remains, all parts are for sale. Message me on here if you are interested in any part.
