I think they're a grey import... parts may be a bit hard to come by.

Here is my 2 cents worth. Why is the person divesting of the bike???? you need an answer!
Ask him how he has gone so far in obtaining parts? 9 times out of 10 people have suppliers they have used prior, this can be very handy info.
Next stop, your computer and the internet, ebay here, US, UK and beyond. Feel certain you will find plenty of info.
Finally after covering all these areas you still aren't pleased with information, then perhaps it isn't for you.
Ok, I have owned 2 400 Suzuki's, one was a GSX400F and my current GSF400 Bandit V, both good machines.
Parts are available although I have not had to buy any so far apart from the Litetek kit from Blair and this is a must to get your carbs in good order.
Good luck with mate, hope it pans out ok for you.:thumb_ups:

I'll add my 2 cents, 400s are the flagship according to the Japanese so yeah I'd take it if I wanted a racer!

He gave me info for uk suppliers and was very helpful on info in his racing on it and what I should do.
He selling as his brother and him racing sidecar so funding that
Just seeing if anyone owned one race or road and what they are like
As I said to him was looking down the Honda 250/400 but open and he was honest about the fact they are more sought after but the gsxr can be raced with them with the right stuff aboviosly I'm no Marquez but just putting feelers out and I appreciate the feedback

If you want to race it @ historic meetings (the answer is you do) ensure the model was released by December 1990.

    Cheers

The important thing is the year the model was released not the year that bike was made.

1990 is included. Pre 91 is what you want

Yes you could still race f3 and f4 of the club series but once you go historic it opened up a whole world of brilliant meetings
