    Hi All,

well I have had many problems with my bike lately (GSXR250 GJ73A), the charging system is not working. And then this will not start.

I've checked the compression, fuel and spark. Everything seems perfect, but the spark seems very weak.

As the charging system does not work, I use a booster to start him, the engine attempts to start but fails to run,

last week it was running, but the problem with the charging system, and did not start again.

If you need more info, tell me. I hope your help

Did the magnets break up in the flywheel? I had two broken, glued back together with JB Weld and its putting out just enough to still charge the battery. Lucky I don't have headlights! Seems to be a common problem with this bike. I bought an Across engine as a spare and it's magnets are starting to crack too :-(

Yeh mine needed a replacement flywheel as well (GJ74A), I sourced from a wrecker in brisbane.Seems to be a few around in australia but not exactly cheap.

Hey Boydie, does the across engine fit on your frame?

The bottom end is the same but the head is different. It lacks the upper engine mounts plus I think the intake port angles are different. I should have done more research first, but I've done that now and picked up a first gen Bandit head to go on it. It has to be first gen as the later 40hp motors have the shallower port angles too. The engine is easily identified as it has the dimples in the clutch cover like the GSXR.

I've had my bike on the track 3 times now and the glued flywheel is holding up fine. Its putting out 50v AC which is within spec. Unfortunately my reg/rec failed and it put 30v DC into my new lithium battery and killed it :-( Luckily the Across part plugs straight in but has shorter wires, I just mounted it differently but wires could be extended if necessary.
