Hello! My names Todd and Im 22. Currently live in Brisbane. I own a zxr 250a 1989. Unfortunately it has been sitting in my shed for 3 years in Bundaberg without regular starts! Shame on me! But, I think its time to give the old girl some love and put her back on her feet. It also has the dreaded no power soft spot. So looking at doing the fix next time Im home. Anyway, just thought Id pop in and say Hi, as I will probably be around here a lot now. Thanks Todd
Welcome to the forum Todd, hey life gets in the way of many projects. You will find many knowledgeable people who can assist you when you get started on your project.
Welcome aboard. Access to manuals requires a $5 donation to the site If you need carb rubbers, get them from http://litetek.co/ And post some pics
Thanks for the welcomes. Very quick. Seems like an active forum for sure In regards to the donation, Ill happily pay, just hard atm as I do FIFO and Im on my phone. That also ruins my chances of uploading pictures too. Currently the fairing as cracked. One destroyed. Did the silly thing of letting my ex "give it a go". Not the reason shes now my ex though Ive sourced some ebay ones, not sure how fitment will go. I'm just in a tight spot money wise at the moment, and repairing the fairings was going to cost a fortune.
mate we are pretty easy going im sure the lads and my self can help you out... @Th3_Huntsman has some spare fairing parts he also knows his way around carbs.. @kiffsta has plenty of spare parts as do I... so dont be afraid to ask there is always a deal to be made..
welcome along mate and happy posting. think there is another Bundy bloke on here with a ZXR and there is plenty on here with parts and working ZXR's
Todd If its all still in 1 piece , then change the oil and filter , get some fresh fuel in it , check the coolant , stick in a new battery and fire it up. ...... and take it from there. Bodywork is always a PIA but I tend to leave that to the last thing and get the mechanicals and maintenance and consumables up to scratch first. enjoy the forum
Couldn't agree more Mr. Grey, when the bikes going you tend not to look too closely........you just ride.......cosmetics come later
Will definitely focus on the mechanical side first! I believe I also have the common battery problem too, which may be the regulator as Ive read. Ill do some volt testing and carb seals when Im down In bundaberg next Thanks for the very warm welcome Edit: Oh and also pics
Welcome to the forums mate, chermside is a good location for going for rides. Harry's Diner doing bike meets 1st Wed night of the month and 3rd Sat afternoons if i call. Usually the NWP guys meet up at Aspley hypermarket or Aspley maccas car parks prior to the events.
Very good to hear. Im located in Chermside so not far away at all Ill definitely keep this in mind when I get the bike fixed up and brought down from Bundy
