G'day all, I'm a soon-to-be returning rider, with a slightly neglected 2005 cb250 being picked up tomorrow. Like a lot of early 40's blokes with kids my favourite hobby was cut short when child number 3 came along- it was bike or baby. All my bikes were Suzuki's, starting with a 1990 DR250, then a 1981 wire wheel Katana 1100, a 1984 GS1100GK (shaft drive tourer) and finishing with my only brand new bike- a 2008 GSX1400 bought in 2009. Having been bikeless for 18 months and pretending I didn't miss it I am still surprised by how much I'm looking forward to having a bike again. Especially considering that as a 6'5'' 125kg unit I will look like "a gorilla on a skateboard" (according to mates). I look forward to both learning and contributing to what looks to be a welcoming community, and as soon as I have some pictures I'll put some up. All the best, Buzz22
Welcome to the forum, you'll find yourself in good company as there many members with neglected bikes here. A fine selection of previous bikes, am a huge fan of Suzuki's myself. Once a rider, always a rider and that never seems to leave us. Have you considered that perhaps your mates are vision impaired??? We of course look forward to seeing some photo's of your latest ride and if there is anything we can assist with, just ask.
Welcome Buzz22. As the saying goes, 'four wheels move the body, two wheels move the sole.' Enjoy your new ride.
Thanks all for the warm welcome, much appreciated. Picked up the CB250 today- a 2005 model with 24,000 km. The previous owner didn't really know much about bikes and had just bought the bike to get his licence on before he decided riding wasn't for him. There are a couple of issues to fix- bent bars and a broken mirror from a stationary drop. A new front tyre and a crack in the tailpiece. Once these are fixed then a blue slip and rego. Not too bad for $600. I took some pictures on my phone and as soon as I work out how to post them from there I will. Thanks again for the welcome and all the best, Buzz22
