Bought my 3LN from Melbourne. Flew down and rode her back...Couldn't believe how well she went...Little rocket! Have done a few K's with my missus two-up since then [all my other bikes are single seat] She's a bewdy! The missus aint bad either Got the carbies off for a service now, so next stop the forum of infinite knowledge...
Welcome! Use this page to identify your frame and engine: http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/yamaha-fzr250-model-information.230/ To identify your carbies, check where the idle screw is. Positioned in the middle are 3LN1 carbies. The idle screw on a cable is 3LN3 or newer. If your float bowls have 4 screws each and have raised rounded parts, they belong to a 3LN6 or 3LN7. Everything you need to know about these carbies is in this thread: http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/grasshoppers-fzr-3ln3.2004/page-12#post-38917 Keyster carb rebuild kits are available from http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ - kits are $50 each, $200 for all 4 carbs. The gaskets are kinda meh, get litetek ones instead: http://litetek.co More carby info and pictures for reference: http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/linkins-fzr250r-3ln3.3280/page-12#post-39205
I also have the 'idle' issue where it just sits and the no amount of throttle changes the revs. I have a bogging issue as well...Especially after pulling away and on hills. Goes like the clappers at full revs on the freeway. Carb related I'm guessing.
Absolutely it is. Turning off the fuel tap is a workaround as fuel will start draining out of the bowls. Works well in traffic. Post pics of your carbs if you have them and we can identify them for you.
Its a 3LN1 [via frame #3LN - 231028] Mikuni carbs but no identifying numbers [they're still sat on the bike attached via cables]
Welcome, great looking bike! The bogging problem etc is likely to be the Jet Needles and tubes which wear out on these carbs.
what a cracking looking looking FZR, she is a beaut! If your finding sag in the rear i'd suggest an R6 shock swap. transforms the rear of the bike. happy posting mate! looking forward in seen more of your bike!
G'day Moo...Is the R6 shock a hot swap? No fabricating? It does bottom out occasionally [the missus is only little thankfully]
Welcome mate. The lads have pointed you in the right direction. Happy posting. The life force of the forum is on sustained by uploading pictures of your bike. So don't be shy lol.
a little bit of blood and a few choice words and it fits, nothing at all that stressful. massive difference as the R6 shocks are also serviceable.
Yeah I saw they need a couple of extensions on the ankle joint...Did anyone come up with a template for them?
