Anyone know where I could get a workshop manual for the FZR? It will prob. be the same manual for the 400 and 250.

Having issues with fuel not getting through - have checked spark and that's a-ok, so it must be a fuel issue. Hasn't been started for prob. at least 2 mths

Anyone know where I can get the manual and/or any idea how I can get this bugger started? I have yet to hear it run, so I'm pretty anxious to hear it kick over.

cheers

I had the same issue with my bike, (it had not been started for about 6 months) I had a spark but it would not start up. I got it started using Aero Start. It comes in a can and you spray it into your air box over the top of you carbies. The type of aero start I bought was called "Start Ya Bastard" and it cost me about $10 from an autopro store. If that does not get your bike started then I would say something may be up with your carbies.
Good luck man, hope you get it going.

won't start?

Do those little twofiddies have a fuel pump????
if so , is it working (you can hear it when you turn on the key.)?
I've had to turn on the key on my 1040 and let the pump run till it stops then turn off the key and do that a couple times to get fuel into the float bowls....
That might be it

they do have a fuel pump - good tip re: filling floats.

Many of the 250's have also been fitted with a fuel-line filter so you may want to make sure that is clear (assuming the fuel pump is working). When I first got my bike it was clogged.

can it please be scanned or something to share with everyone ?

it's just something i'd really love to have...

You beat me to it Boz - I was about to say the same thing. I think the FZR400 is the only one we can get out here...and that's on the 'documents' link on this homepage.

Who sells the FZR 250 manual ? I wonder if its worth gettin , but i think the only manual for the FZR 250 is in japanese so it must have had to be converted to english.

If anywhere, it would be avail. through Haynes manuals. prob. wouldn't be cheap though - why bother if the 400 is almost the same? Only the real techy stuff like valves, cylinder sizes/compression ratios etc. that would be diff. Not the sort of stuff you can be screwing around with at our level anyway.

has anyone seen that Yamaha Parts list on ebayfor Ten bucks ??

it's like a 60-70 page manual with all the parts listed for most bikes, i asked if they had a FZR250 but he said he had the 400 and it's all but the same as everyone says

anyone else seen this ?

I haven't seen it. Are you considering buying? Does it have all parts, or just the parts for the bikes sold in australia (which I would expect - after all even the yamaha dealers I have been to are sometimes at a loss for parts for me)?

I personally don't see the reason to buy, simply because the 400 parts will have different parts than the 250's. I would expect spark plugs to be different, and oil filters. A quick search on unifilter.com found this:
YAMAHA FZR 250 88/90 NU 2296 21
YAMAHA FZR 250 91/98 UF300 190 22
YAMAHA FZR 400 88/89 NU 2296 21
YAMAHA FZR 400 90 on NU 2292 21

So while the 89/90 models (2kr??) shares with the 400's the 91+ (3lns??) don't.

Sorry guys for the non reply

started work and got lost in time..

when I emailed the guy he said it's a parts list manual with ever single part labeled and coded, he has a FZR 90 3LN manual avilble, he has raised his price to about 20 bucks last time i checked it

it might be worth while doing alllthough i'm not convinced as yet

I think it's just pages with arrows pointed to the parts and says what there code is etc etc

I'm on the process of scanning the 1987 FZR250 (2KR ) Workshop Manual. It's in Japanese so anyone who wants to translate it would be a big help. I just don't know where to post it. Any recommendation?

Easisest solution - you can host it at http://www.rapidshare.de/ - zip up all the files, upload it there, and give people the download link. Pretty easy site to use and it is free. Just need to make sure the file is below 50mb.

Guess can't e-mail due to large file sizes. Anyway, will try rapidshare.
